When you spend time on your yoga mat, you spend time getting to know yourself. By moving through different poses you challenge your mind to stay focused and your body to stay steady.
The practice of yoga uncovers the patterns of your body and mind, acting as a metaphor for how you move through life and gives you a chance to practice changing old and perhaps destructive patterns into a more positive way of being.
As well as improving quality of life and wellbeing, moving with correct alignment and discovering your body’s movement patterns can help strengthen and tone muscles and prevent injuries, making it a perfect practice for sports enthusiasts as well as anyone just wanting to feel better within their body.
Other benefits of going to regular yoga classes include reduced stress and anxiety, easier breathing, improved vitality and energy levels, and a sense of calm and steadiness in everyday life.
